Anthony Collins

Since being admitted as a Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1989, Tony has worked both as a Crown Prosecutor and as a Barrister in private practice in a number of regional centres throughout regional Queensland.  He is a traditional trial advocate in that he will accept instructions in any court in relation to any matter.  

His knowledge of the law of Queensland, the underlying common law and equitable principles is extensive. His commitment to continuing legal education is demonstrated by him being awarded a Master of Laws in 2017 by the University of Queensland. He currently lectures fourth-year students in the Law of Succession at James Cook University.

He has extensive advocacy experience at both trial and appellate level. He appears regularly as an advocate in the criminal, family and civil jurisdictions.

He has been a regular contributor to North Queensland Law Association Conferences.

He has an interest in legal history.

He is committed to the prompt and efficient provision of legal advice and the delivery of forthright advocacy.
