Kellie Mythen

Kellie obtained her Bachelor of Laws at James Cook University and had practised predominantly in Criminal Law, Domestic Violence and Family Law since her admission in 2015. 

In 2018 Kellie joined the Office of Police Prosecutions in Townsville.  During her time with their office, Kellie has prosecuted numerous criminal trials in both the juvenile and adult jurisdiction.  Kellie has instructed Counsel in Appeals in the District Court as well as bail reviews.

From 2021 - 2022 Kellie was allocated to the Specialist Domestic Violence Court Prosecutions team as the Senior Prosecutor.  Kellie was responsible for conducting contested hearings in relation to Domestic and Family Violence Protection Orders Applications and for the prosecution of Domestic Violence Criminal matters on behalf of the Queensland Police Service.

Kellie is known for her in-depth knowledge of Criminal Law and Domestic Violence and her passion for educating others in this field.  This has led to Kellie being approached by James Cook University to assist in the development and delivery of an advanced Criminal Law subject targeted to their third-year students which will commence in 2024. 

Kellie was called to the bar in May 2023 and is accepting briefs in the areas of Domestic Violence, Criminal Law and Family Law.
